Our material analysis process involves examining the composition, structure, and properties of the materials you intend to use to manufacture your products, our goals being quality control, product development, failure prevention and regulation compliance. By leveraging advanced material analysis techniques, we can detect impurities, measure mechanical properties, and evaluate the microstructure of materials.
Our services include:
While material analysis follows naturally from our product concepting and development service, we can also test your existing products and help you optimise them.
You can’t cut corners on the path to excellence. A solid product with an innovative design can be scuttled on launch by poor-quality, poor-performance materials. Our team of materials design and analysis experts employs cutting-edge techniques to ensure the raw materials you choose have the characteristics needed to do the job at hand.
Below, you’ll see a collection of projects from our portfolio. Each product is wildly different from the next, and had equally unique material demands. We solved those challenges. We’ll solve yours.
Learn more about material analysis
Our material analysis process is thorough and methodical, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
Timeframe: Our standard analysis timeframe ranges from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the complexity of the material and the specific tests required.
Benefits:
Ideal if you:
1
We research and compile a list of materials that meet the functional, aesthetic, and performance requirements of your product. This process ensures that the chosen materials enhance the product’s durability, manufacturability, and overall user experience while also considering the cost and the environmental impact of the design.
2
To characterise the materials, we perform physical tests (e.g., hardness, tensile strength), chemical analysis (e.g., spectroscopy, chromatography), and microstructural examination (e.g., microscopy).
3
We conduct specific tests to gather data about the materials’ properties. Depending on the materials and their intended use, this could involve mechanical testing (e.g., stress-strain analysis), thermal testing (e.g., thermal conductivity), or other specialised tests.
4
Finally, we analyse the data collected during testing to draw conclusions about the materials’ properties. This step involves interpreting the results, comparing them to standards or specifications, and compiling a detailed report that includes the findings and any recommendations.
